Solar control glass

One of the features of the modern architecture is the widespread use of glass in building structures and interior design. Houses and offices filled with light have a significant impact on the quality of our lives. Unfortunately, high transparency can lead to increased room heating and higher level of UV radiation. Modern solar control light limits the undesirable heat gain while allowing maximum visible light transmittance.

The latest architectural glass solutions make it possible to implement interesting design concepts, using various colors and properties of laminated glass, thus combining optimum parameters of energy and light transmission with the aesthetic appearance of the building.

Types of solar control glass:

1. Selective glass allows you to enjoy daylight to the max, while blocking out solar energy in the summer. Conversely, in winter, it prevents heat from leaking out. An ideal solution for buildings with large glazed surfaces that have to be protected from overheating but also need to maximize natural light. Selective glass can be completely colorless or mass-tinted.

2. Reflective glass has a metallic coating that creates a mirror effect, reflecting back some of the solar radiation. This allows to reduce the amount of light and heat that enter a building. The reflective coating can be added to colorless or mass-tinted, brown, gray, green, or blue glass.

3. Absorptive glass, also known as “antisol”, absorbs solar energy to reduce the amount of heat and light that enters a building. Absorptive glass can be tinted brown, gray, green, or blue, which allows it to absorb solar radiation, reducing the amount of solar light and heat indoors.

Why get solar control glass?

Thermal comfort:
Solar control glass significantly improves indoor thermal comfort, reducing the total amount of heat that gets inside on hot summer days.

Energy efficiency:
Good solar control glass allows you to cut energy losses, which means lower heating and air-conditioning bills and a lower carbon footprint.
